<< SPACE AIR CONDITIONING PLC - Building Materials and Architectural Building Products >>

Space Airconditioning Plc

Established in 1980, Space Airconditioning plc, based in Guildford, Surrey, is the UK’s only independent Distributor of DAIKIN air conditioning equipment and systems. Space Air offers complete system design support, schematic drawings, product training and dependable aftersales support. Space Air also produces a comprehensive range of accessories, many of which are unique and would otherwise need to be sourced from other suppliers. Space

Air is acknowledged as one of the industry’s foremost air conditioning suppliers.

Daikin

Daikin Air Conditioning is part of the giant Daikin Industries and was established in 1924. Renowned for innovation, energy efficiency, high quality and reliability, Daikin products destined for the European market are manufactured in Belgium and the Czech Republic. Daikin Industries are unique as they are one of the world’s largest manufacturers of air conditioning equipment and refrigerants, this has placed them at the forefront of developing sustainable alternatives to ozone depleting refrigerants. Daikin leads the field in energy efficient air conditioning systems.

Water Chillers

Space Air offers the complete range of Daikin water chillers (5 to 1.1MW nom. capacity) including air-cooled, water-cooled and remote condenser types. In 2005 Daikin launched their range of ‘Stepless compressor" chillers with infinite capacity control between 15%-100%, this coincided with an extension in capacity of the water-cooled range to 1.1MW and the launch of

a range of inverter controlled ‘mini-chillers’ (5 to 7Kw) with built-in hydraulics. Daikin Chillers are ideal for comfort cooling (commercial or residential) and process applications. Remote self-diagnostic controllers can allow the simultaneous operation of up to 4 chillers (2.2MW). As many as 16 chillers can be linked to a single building management system.

VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) Systems

Space Air is highly experienced in applying Daikin’s world-renowned VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) systems. Designed for medium to large premises including commercial offices, hospitals, schools, hotels, department stores and apartment blocks, VRV II launched in 2003, was the first variable refrigerant flow system to operate with the safe, stable and

highly efficient refrigerant HFC R410A. In 2004 Daikin launched VRV II-S (mini VRV), which bridged the gap between the multi-split and larger capacity VRV II systems. Both systems are featured on the Carbon Trust’s "Energy Technologies List".

In 2005 Daikin launched the water cooled VRV-WII and the third generation, air cooled VRVIII, offering even larger capacities, higher efficiencies, longer pipe length capability and greater fan coil connectivity (to 64 fan coils). The VRV range now has the capability to be applied to virtually any application, from the average home to the tallest building. Daikin VRV systems offer the industry’s highest COP (coefficient of performance) ratings.

Heat Reclaim Ventilation System (HRV)

The innovative Daikin HRV system efficiently exchanges temperature and humidity between supply and exhaust air. This process recovers energy losses and considerably reduces the air conditioning load. Ideal for both commercial and residential applications, they can be used independently or in conjunction with Daikin Chilled Water, Sky Air and VRV systems. Models are now available with built-in DX coils and humidity control.

Split & Multi Split-Systems

Ideal for small to medium sized properties of all types including offices, shops, restaurants, bars or residential, these systems can run up to 5 indoor units from a single outdoor cooling only or heat pump unit for year round comfort. A wide range of stylish compact and extremely quiet indoor fan coil units are available, including the new super-slim concealed unit, which can be installed in ceiling voids of just 240mm.

Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Scheme

Under this scheme business users can claim 100% tax relief on new purchases of certain energy efficient equipment that meets a specified criteria.

Leading the market in number, Daikin VRV,Split, Multi-Split Heat Pump systems and chillers qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances. Details can be obtained from Space Air’s Marketing Department or on the website.

Free RIBA approved CPD Seminars

Space Air is pleased to offer free RIBA and CIBSE approved CPD seminars, which provide information on current air conditioning technologies and the latest standards and regulations. All Daikin equipment is supported by a 3-year warranty
