<< OSMA UNDERFLOOR HEATING - Building Materials and Architectural Building Products >>

Osma Underfloor Heating

Osma Underfloor Heating takes a unique product-based approach to underfloor heating. The products deliver substantial advantages over alternative heat emitters, and go beyond conventional underfloor heating techniques.

Based on manufactured polystyrene or timber panels that hold high performance plastic pipe in pre-determined positions, the products ensure:

• Maximum thermal efficiency

With reduced heat loss and lower fuel costs

• Even heat distribution

With consistent, repeatable performance

• Easy installation

With no specialist knowledge or equipment required

• Choice of modular or continuous pipe systems

To meet all layout requirements

Several different products are available in the Osma Underfloor Heating range. These provide proven, cost-effective solutions for every type of floor construction, for both new build and refurbishment projects.

Pocketed Polystyrene

For screeded floors. Pocketed polystyrene insulation 35mm or 50mm thick with pipe channels at 200mm or 300mm centres. The screed wraps round the pipe in the pockets and acts as an effective heat diffuser. Enables use of thinner screeds - 22-65mm.

Foiled Polystyrene

For fully-floating timber floors. Extruded polystyrene insulation 35mm or 50mm thick, pre-channelled at 200mm or 300mm centres, factory-fitted with soft temper aluminium foil for high performance heat diffusion without creaks or ticking.

Modular Chipboard

Modular system for timber joists. 22mm T+G chipboard flooring panels with integral 10mm pipe at 100mm centres. Versions available with pipe covering full, three-quarter or half length of the panel. Enabling simple installation of UFH in a timber floor. Panels are interconnected using OsmaGold fittings fitted from above or beneath the floor level.

Timber Joist

Continuous pipe system for timber joists. Foiled 50mm polystyrene insulation with pipe at 200mm centres for installation between joists at 400 or 600mm centres.

Modular Polystyrene

For joisted floors. Foiled 50mm polystyrene insulation modules with pipe at 200mm centres for installation from below between joists at 400 or 600mm centres. Panels are simply interconnected using OsmaGold fittings.

Custom Fit

For screeded or fully-floating timber floors. Patented CAD transfer of heating design directly to a jigsaw of custom-made insulation panels to meet precise building layout requirements. Can also be used to integrate the installation of both heating pipe and plumbing pipe (and electrical conduit as well if required). Particularly suitable for projects involving multiple units and for large buildings with complex room configurations.

[Also available] Pipe-on-mesh

Pipe, reinforcing mesh and insulation board: for on-site assembly prior to screeding. Pipe centres are determined by the installer. Until now, a conventional technique for underfloor heating installation.

Technical Services

OSMA systems are supported by a comprehensive Technical Advisory Service covering all aspects of an underfloor heating project, including:

• System selection

• Detail design

• CIBSE heating calculations

• Installation advice and trouble-shooting

• Maintenance guidelines
