Human Light

Artemide, throughout its history, has played an active and purposeful role in the market’s trend towards higher standards for the aesthetic and functional quality of luminaires.

When artificial light is being designed, it should be as close as possible to the natural light spectrum so as not to be aggressive for people.

Bad lighting due to a lack or excess of light can create problems for eyesight. Mistaken light distribution can have a negative effect on our psychological state and can make people feel unwell and depressed as well as reducing our effectiveness.

Specifically, in the technical illumination field, this means facing two themes: the creation of new and diffused ‘light culture’ which leads to the recognition and appreciation of improved quality and efficient use of light itself and, as a consequence, the development of improved luminaires.
